Microsoft Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES)

Microsoft Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES)A more flexible, easy and cost-effective new volume licensing solution

Ricoh has partnered with Microsoft to launch Microsoft Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES) — an innovative, simplified and cost-effective way for academic institutions to acquire Microsoft software and services with an annual order and at lower costs. The number of Full Time Equivalent (FTE) employees, instead of number of devices, will be counted for easy administration, enabling the schools to make the most of their financial resources.

What is EES?

EES is a brand new annual subscription agreement offering schools (PCs for teaching or administrative purposes) the rights to the latest Microsoft Enterprise software products during the contract term. EES is counted by the number of FTE (instead of the number of PCs) — you will get the license at a total cost based on the prices of the subscribed products multiplied by the number of FTE.

Subscription threshold

For first subscription, customers are required to order a minimum of 300 units of licensed software products, with the flexibility to add or reduce products in any quantity yearly. Subscription threshold

FTE calculation

Total FTE employees   =   (Full-time faculty+part-time faculty/3)  +  (Full-time staff+part-time staff/2)

After signing the EES contract, schools will enjoy unlimited access to the software products authorized by the contract, and will be allowed to run any upgrade or downgrade versions of the licensed products within 12 months. At the end of the licensed period, schools can choose to renew the contract, quit EES and purchase perpetual licenses using the Buy-out Option, or remove the software products from devices.

Benefits of EES

• Meets the diversified needs of different schools -During the subscription term, schools can easily add additional Microsoft products according to the number of faculty/staff employees of the whole school or a particular department. The schools can also place their orders based on a single device.
• Enhances calculation -Subscription is based on a 1-year or 3-year term, with one annual employee count. Schools can acquire and use the latest versions of the licensed software products during the subscription term.
• Minimises administrative costs -Subscription licensing eliminates the need to track licenses for the selected desktop platform products on every PC.
• Simplifies software asset management -Self-service tools such as the Volume Licensing Service Center enable schools to easily track and manage their software assets from one convenient, online location.
• Offers other benefits -Schools can make the most of their licensing investment with included benefits such as “Work at Home” rights for faculty and staff, Software Assurance and Student Option.
