Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World - 2012
Ricoh is the eighth consecutive year listed in the "Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World," known as the "Global 100."
Starting in 2005, Corporate Knights Inc. of Canada has selected the top 100 corporations in the world every year by highlighting global corporations which have been the most proactive in managing environmental, social and governance issues (ESG) integrated with financial data.
Evaluation was based on 3,500 companies which underwent an exhaustive process that reduced the number to a select 300, after which a final selection of 100 from 22 countries was made based on the key performance indicators.
Among those countries, Japan led the way with 19 Global 100 companies (14 more than in 2011). The United States followed with 13, then the UK and Canada. 34% of winning companies were new to the list.
Ricoh was ranked 71st out of 100, considerably higher than last year's 95th ranking. This long Ricoh run in the Global 100 is a further testament to the company's total commitment to environmental preservation and its sense of responsibility as a good global citizen.

Ricoh had been Awarded “Excellence of Environmental Contributions” by U Magazine
Ricoh Hong Kong was voted to be the winner of the ‘Excellence of Environmental Contributions’ U Green Award 2010 granted by U Magazine. This award recognized the contribution of Ricoh’s environmental efforts towards promotion, professional and planning. CAPITAL Outstanding Green Excellence Awards 2010
Ricoh won the "CAPITAL Outstanding Green Excellence Awards 2010", organized by CAPITAL magazine to recognize for outstanding green policy and achieving corporate social responsibility through a variety of sustainable green initiatives. Ricoh is the only one in the document management products and solutions category to win this award.
Ricoh is committed to contribute to the development of a sustainable society and making significant environmental contributions on a global scale through the Total Green Office Solutions and products, which help business eliminate inefficiencies, reduce carbon footprint and adopt more sustainable business practices.
The winners were selected by an independent assessment panels including the magazine's editorial board and celebrities from the education, government and business sectors. The criterion of selection is based on the company's commitment to the environment, strategy and achievements.
Prime Awards for Eco-Business 2007
Ricoh Hong Kong Limited was honored by receiving the Prime Awards for Eco-Business 2007 organized by Prime Communications Limited. The award was a gesture to recognize Ricoh's support of eco-business and its commitment in carrying out its social responsibility as an enterprise. All award-receiving enterprises have been proactively implementing environmentally friendly measures, such as reducing waste, saving energy and recycling products. Eco-businesses must increase the awareness of their staff with respect to caring for the environment, satisfying customer needs and receiving widespread recognition from the community. They should also work towards enhancing productivity efficiency to achieve cost effectiveness and to establish a positive enterprise image.
During the award ceremony, Mr. Aaron Yim, Managing Director of Ricoh Hong Kong Limited exchanged and shared his insights on eco-business with representatives of other award-receiving enterprises, such as CLP Group, Hongkong Electric Co. Ltd., Maxim's Group, McDonalds Restaurants (H.K.) Ltd. and Sun Hung Kai Properties. Besides, he pointed out that Ricoh made its best efforts in reducing environmental pollution and resource wastage in the process of producing its products, from the stages of development, design, marketing and promotion, to after-sale product intake for recycling.
Ricoh Hong Kong achieved the Green Office Award
Ricoh Hong Kong Limited (RHK) entered the Hong Kong Eco-Business Award 2002 and was awarded Merit Prize in the Green Office Award (Large Organizations) category. This award aims to honor businesses in Hong Kong that have demonstrated a commitment to environmental management and to educate organizations regarding the benefits of environmental protection. The award is jointly organized the Environmental Campaign Committee, the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and the Hong Kong Productivity Council.
Gold Medal from World Environment Center (WEC)
Ricoh Group received the 2003 WEC Gold Medal for International Corporate Achievement in Sustainable Development. This award is presented annually to recognize and honor a corporation that demonstrates preeminent leadership in sustainability and contributes to worldwide environmental quality. The prestigious WEC Gold Medal is awarded by an independent Jury of distinguished international environmentalists to a corporation that demonstrates preeminent leadership and contributes to worldwide environmental quality. This marks the first time that a company from Asia has been honored with the medal.
